The 'old town' on the east side of the city centre, Sunniside, has seen many attempts to reinvigorate itself in recent years. However, it is slowly but surely making positive steps forward, becoming home to brilliant new venues, businesses, and plans for townhouses on vacant land at Nile & Villiers Street. Over the next few years, this area will evolve into a thriving district in a beautiful area of the city centre. There's also plans to reinvent Sunniside Leisure into a new food & drinks destination called Sunniside Social.
